With the Recon coming soon I imagine it's going to attract both existing Jeep owners along with people who are new to Jeeps.

If you currently own a Jeep or have owned them in the past share them here. If you haven't owned a Jeep before share what convinced you to get the Recon as your first one.

Ford Bronco on order

Here's the thing... I am a convertible kind of guy. But I am 53, a big guy, and had knee surgery last year. I've had my share of sporty little convertibles, but getting into a car that's 6 inches off the ground is no longer for me. I don't really go off-roading, except for a little creek bed in the mountains of West Virginia, and that's rare. A push button top in a vehicle that sits up high, has a sporty feel, hopefully with lots of interior space and a luxurious interior and a smooth ride? Oh yeah, I am all about that. The EV thing is a big bonus. I am not used to saving on gas... I won't know how to handle it. lol

The Bronco may be a holdover for me, since you can take the t-tops (hard top) out pretty quick and easy, and it's IFS so the ride should be a lot better than the Jeeps I am used to. So I'll have to decide at some point if I want the Bronco or the Recon. Leaning towards the Recon, although I like the looks of the Bronco a little better.

Great look Jeeps @bek! Welcome to the forum! How long have you had both of them for?

Sounds like the Recon should tick a lot of your boxes. Especially the space and the ride quality. Which Bronco model do you have on order?
Hey Willys!

Nice to meet you. Appreciate the response to my post.

I had the TJ for many years. Bought the JK in '18 and it's my primary vehicle. I just retired, but prior to that I used my JK to travel across country for work. It was a huge upgrade over the TJ, but not the greatest vehicle for long distance driving. lol

I ordered the Wildtrak back in June '21. Intended for it to replace my JK as my primary ride, and once I get it I'll be doing a road trip around the US and parts of Mexico. I figure if the Recon is as good as I'm hoping, I'll sell the Bronco when the Recon is available (and after my road trip) and the Recon will be my last primary vehicle. Not too concerned about charging stations and that sort of thing, but maybe a little concerned about the longevity of the battery. I plan on living as long as possible, and if the Recon rides as good as I'm expecting (no drive train, quiet, smooth, etc), I'll probably keep it forever.

I try not to trade in and out of vehicles, but I'm not letting the Bronco go after all the time I've waited. I really do think the Recon will be my final vehicle, though. The Wranglers have just enough interior space to be comfortable, but I wouldn't mind a little more, and that automatic top sounds great. I've found in recent years I just don't even take the top off my Jeep anymore. It's just too much hassle for a run across town.

I know there aren't many people in the forums yet, so I'm happy to be an early joiner and see all the news as it hits. lol I figure the forum will heat up over time as the Recon draws nearer. Pretty sure I'm gonna buy that sucker.
